I go to London about 3 or 4 times a year so I really try and make the most out of my trips there and find all of the hidden gems that are worth visiting, so I thought I would share with you my favourite restaurants and places to eat around London. For the last three years me and my boyfriend have been to stay at my aunties house in London for about 3 days so we could really enjoy our time there and not have to rush through it all in one day, over the last few years we have found some amazing places I want to tell you about.

Food is my favourite thing in the world and London is home to some amazing restaurants. My no1 favourite has to be Patty&Bun, it is a burger place with 9 locations across London and one in Brighton so it really is a place worth visiting if you are in London as you can't really get it anywhere else. We have been about 5 times and they have never disapointed me, they have an offer for a £6 burger at certain locations for certain times so if you are looking to go and want to save some dollar its worth having a look at. I also very highly recommend the brisket topped fries they are amazing. The food quite messy and greasy so if you enjoy that sort of burger this is the place for you. The staff are always so lovely and relaxed and the overall experience is amazing and great value for money. https://www.pattyandbun.co.uk/

Another classic burger place I love is Shake Shack, this a lot bigger chain with more stores across the world but still worth the visit whilst your in London as they have a few locations across the city. I love just a classic cheese burger and fries from there and they also have an amazing pink lemonade. They offer a variety of burgers, hot dogs, desserts and drinks which would suit everyone. They also do a student offer of buy 1 get one free on certain days so its worth checking that out. https://www.shakeshack.co.uk

If your feeling like splurging a bit more for a fancy meal then I would recommend the Duck and Waffle. It is located on the 40th-floor with floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the restaurant and bar, it's very hard to get a reservation here so make sure to book in advance, it is also open 24 hours serving a variety of menus. Here they recommend two people share a bread, two small plates and a large plate, which is what we did. We ordered the Rosemary & garlic bread, followed by Grilled octopus and Spicy ox cheek doughnut and finished with Woodland mushroom and truffle pasta (which is no longer avaliable), all of our options were amazing espically the Ox cheek doughnut, I highly recommend. We also enjoyed a few cocktails, however my boyfriend didn't like any of the ones of the menu so he asked for something else and they were more than happy to make it for him so bare that in mind if you go. This is definetly one of the most expensive restaurants I've ever been to as the bill came out to £130, but it was my boyfriends birthday so we wanted to do something special and they did actually give him a small chocolate cake and sang happy birthday to him. The staff were lovely and always made sure everything was perfect for you so the experience lives up to the price tag. https://duckandwaffle.com/

On a lot cheaper note, my favourite snack to get whilst in London is a cookie from Bens Cookies, they have a few locations across the city I would definetly recommend finding one near you. We used to have one near me at home which my family would always visit but they sadly closed down so I always treat myself to one when I'm in London. They are really thick and have massive pieces of chocolate in them which taste amazing. https://www.benscookies.com

The next amazing restaurant we went to was Flat Iron, there are a few locations across London which are listed on their website and here they only sell steak so if your vegetarian don't go here sorry. They have different cuts from different cows throughout the day and when the finish the one they move onto the next. The steak costs £10 which is really cheap for a steak and they have 5 options for sides, 4 sauces and 1 desert option, so if you are a very indecisive person this is the place for you. The steak was amazing and I had a side of chips which were also amazing and of course peppercorn sauce as its my favourite. The drinks menu is a bit bigger with a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks which we tried a few of and were all amazing. The service was amazing all the staff are so lovely and make a great experience for the customer. They also give out free caramel ice cream as you leave which is a great touch to the experience. You can't book here so try and avoid peak times. https://flatironsteak.co.uk/

For breakfast one day we went to The Breakfast Club, I had heard some great things about here so I wanted to try it out. I played it safe got some berry pancakes, I received a massive portion which definetly filled me up and my boyfriend actually got steak and chips which he said was really nice, so they seem to be able to do a variety of foods well. We both got an iced coffee which was really nice, it's quite basic, nothing too special about it but it was really nice food and worth trying if you are looking for a breakfast resturant. https://thebreakfastclubcafes.com/

In 2018 we visited Chelsea and there was a Magnum pop up store where you could customise your own Magnum. I'm not sure if it will still be there but I think they will do in other locations so its worth looking for, I found one in Rome earlier this year. In the shop there was a massive range of toppings which you could chose three of, we chose fudge, honeycomb and brownie and then you chose either white, milk or dark chocolate drizzle and we chose white. For the final touch they added the first letter of our names which made it really special and the man serving us was really lovely and made it a great experience and ofcourse the ice cream was amazing.

Another one of my favourite places is Bubba Gump Shrimp, I first went in Orlando and the food was amazing so when I saw there was one in London I had to go. It is a bit more expensive but the food and atomsphere is great and if you've seen the movie you really appreciate it all. My favourite dish there is “...Of Course We Have Scampi!” which is shrimp and pasta but the sauce is amazing. Last time we went we used a 2for1 voucher you can get when you travel to London by train so I recommend doing this if you are travelling by train and want to save some money. https://bubbagumpshrimp.co.uk/
