SPRING/SUMMER TRENDS 2020

Although we are all staying safely at home during this global pandemic and it really doesn't look like we are going to be getting a 'normal' summer, the spring/summer fashion trends are still under way and everyones trying to get their hands on the latest pieces.

The first major trend I have been loving is Tie Dye, literally tie dye anything, from socks to hoodies to headbands, you can get any colour in any style. I honestly don't think I have, or actually seen anyone wear tie dye since I was a child and I had really just forgotten about it and had never considered wearing anything tie dye until I saw all these gorgeous pieces and I fell in love I'm not sure what it is about it, the simplicity yet creativity within the patterns. I love how every piece is different, as you can't die the exact same pieces of fabric each time. Large brands are coming out with styles but it has also given so many smaller creators an opportunity to create their own custom, one of a kind pieces, I have seen so many amazing brands on Depop and Instagram who I love to support. I have actually tried it myself, I tie dyed a hoodie, a sweatshirt, crop top and joggers which I love and have had so many compliments on. It's a trend I really hope carries on and I think it defiantly will through to the end of summer as their are so many bright colours which are perfect for the season.

Another huge trend that I have noticed recently is Tennis skorts, honestly not something I had ever thought about wearing but now I have seen so many people wearing and styling them in so many ways and I have fallen in love. It's so comfy and convenient with the shorts inside the skirt. They can also be styled in endless ways and anyone could make it work to their style. They are also so cheap and easy to get a hold of from so many different brands. It's the perfect staple for summer.

Styled in many different ways the Silk headband has been very popular, people wearing them as tops even or in different styles in their hair, there are endless opportunities. Wearing it as a top is a bit too risky for me but some people look amazing in them and there are so many different colours and patterns available, it's a great DIY. Also people wearing them as bandanas, headband or hair bobbles, they are the perfect accessory to complete a summer look, silk is also really good for your hair so thats a plus. It's a great, affordable piece that you can wear so many different ways and create so many different outfits with, a perfect summer staple.

Also Sports wear as a whole has become very popular, with people dressing more comfy whilst being stuck at home or working on their 'summer body' now they have the time. I have seen a massive rise in people wearing Adidas and Nike pieces as they come out with more day to day wear.

As we enter back into the world with the Coronavirus still among us the new must have accessory is Face masks. So many fashion brands are now releasing their own face mask styles so their are many to choose from if your going to be that picky. Most of your high street brands like PLT, Missguided and Boohoo are selling their own, some I really don't agree with their messaging and I do feel that some brands are using this pandemic as a money maker instead of actually wanting to help people, as I'm not too sure how helpful a mask that reads 'Eat, Sleep, Isolate, Repeat' is. But I have also seen some amazing creations from small business, such as this Instagram shop @babylouaccessories who creates masks from designer dust bags which is a great way for them to expand and be creative.
